Protection Status
Rauðhólar was designated a protected public park in 1974. Visitors are free to explore the area on foot, and fences must not restrict access unless suitable crossing points are provided. Horse riding trails must also remain accessible.
These provisions do not apply to fenced water sources or cultivated land, where public access is not permitted.
