Ranger stations

Ranger stations serve as bases for park rangers and as centres for visitor information and education, including guided walks and other forms of interpretation, depending on local conditions.

Ranger stations are located where they can best serve their purpose and reach visitors travelling through the area. From these stations, rangers carry out daily patrols and monitoring within the national park and protected areas under its management. Ranger stations may be operated in cooperation with other organisations and, where possible, make use of existing facilities and services.

The roles and responsibilities of rangers and other staff may vary between ranger stations, as may the facilities available to staff at each location.
