Access and Information
Miklavatn is located in the outer part of Skagafjörður, just inland from Sauðárkrókur.
To protect birdlife, access to the area is prohibited from 15 May to 1 July.
Protection Status
Miklavatn was designated a nature reserve in 1977. The protected area covers 1,484.5 hectares.
