Access and Information
Böggvistaðafjall Nature Reserve is located on the mountain slopes above Dalvík. A ski area operated by Dalvíkurbyggð Municipality is active there during the winter season, and the area is therefore easily accessible.
Protection Status
Böggvistaðafjall was designated a nature reserve (fólkvangur) in 1994, with the protection designation renewed in 2011.
The nature reserve covers an area of 305.9 hectares.
Management and operation of the nature reserve are the responsibility of Dalvíkurbyggð Municipality.
