Protection Status
Blautós and Innstavogsnes were designated a nature reserve in 1999. The purpose of the protection designation was to conserve the landscape and ecosystems of the area, particularly its rich birdlife.

The area is rich in birdlife and supports abundant vegetation. It features beautiful landscapes and interesting geological formations. Due to its close proximity to the town of Akranes, the area is also a popular destination for outdoor recreation.
