Wildlife conservation

The Agency is responsible for the management and conservation of wild birds and mammals in Iceland.

Management and conservation plans

The Agency develops management and conservation plans for wild bird and mammal species. The plans set out management objectives, identify necessary conservation measures and provide a framework for sustainable use and hunting management where applicable.

They are based on available scientific knowledge and monitoring data and are prepared in consultation with relevant experts, public authorities and stakeholders. Plans are reviewed and updated as new information becomes available or circumstances change.

Alien species

The import, release or other distribution of living alien species in Iceland is prohibited without a permit from the Nature Conservation Agency.

This setup also solves one thing I noticed in the original: “Wildlife management and conservation” was essentially just repeating what was then explained under “Management and conservation plans.” I’d remove that separate heading and instead divide the page into the three clear themes: Hunting, Wildlife conservation, and Alien species.

Visually, if the Náttúra CMS allows it, I’d make the three main themes into cards or navigation tiles near the top of the page. That would make quite a text-heavy subject much easier to scan.
