Firearms courses

You may not own or use a firearm without a valid firearms licence. You must also hold a valid firearms licence and carry a valid hunting licence when hunting.

The National Commissioner of the Icelandic Police has entered into an agreement with SKOTVÍS, which now administers firearms courses. SKOTVÍS and the Nature Conservation Agency have agreed to share the same registration and examination system for the time being.
